Who we are

Scotia Sphynx + Devon Rex is a family run, home-based safe cattery, located just outside of Lunenburg, Nova Scotia. We are independently owned and operated, and registered with the Cat Fancier Association (CFA). All Scotia Sphynx kittens are registered with CFA or TICA, and each client is provided with a lifetime support in return for providing a loving home. Policies

Ethical Standards

• All kittens are available for pet homes only, no purchase of breeding rights will be up for negotiation from Scotia Sphynx+Devon Rex.

• Clients are required to sign a contract once through the approval stage.

• Scotia Sphynx+Devon Rex stands behind the quality of our cats and believes that colour does not correlate with the quality of a cat. Therefore, there will be no price difference due to colour.

• A non- refundable deposit in the amount of five hundred (500.00CAD) is required to reserve a kitten.

•Kittens come with age appropriate vaccinations, dewormed and spayed/neutered.

• All kittens come with a 2-year congenital health guarantee, extending to 5 year HCM guarantee.

• If for any reason a buyer is unable to keep a Scotia Sphynx kitten/cat it is to be returned to Scotia Sphynx+Devon Rex.

• Scotia Sphynx+Devon Rex does not believe in the declawing of cats or kittens.

• Scotia Sphynx+Devon Rex does not breed more cats than it is able to care for.

​• Kittens at Scotia Sphynx+Devon Rex are raised in a loving, caring home and we pride ourselves in choosing new homes for our kittens that will adhere to the same standards.

• Scotia Sphynx+Devon Rex stands behind the health and temperament of all kittens.

​• Scotia Sphynx+Devon Rex ensures pure breeding lines. Our kittens breeding lines have been HCM screened (hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, or HCM, is a thickening of the heart muscle often cause by an overactive thyroid gland.

​• Scotia Sphynx+Devon Rex requires all clients to go through our approval process which requires references to ensure we select the best possible home for our kittens.

Tips for raising Sphynx Cats

• Supervise your pet as you would a young child.

• It is important to keep a clean environment and beware of potential dangers for you kittens (small things that could be digested, etc.)

• Hygiene is essential.

• Check their ears weekly for wax, debris or signs of infection, and clean when necessary. Don’t worry, we’ll show you how!

• Sphynx need to be active: include daily play sessions to stimulate their natural desire for hunting and exploring. Keeping Sphynx active help in avoiding behaviour issues.

• Clean litter box daily and ensure each cat has their own box.

• Feed your cat a high quality raw or high-quality dry blended food (I personally feed Big Country raw.
